How we raise our animals the right way
At Lakeshire Farm, we believe that how animals are raised matters—not just for their wellbeing, but for the quality of the meat you feed your family. That's why we've committed to farming practices that prioritize animal welfare, environmental sustainability, and superior taste.
Every decision we make is guided by one simple question: Is this what's best for the animal? When animals are healthy, happy, and raised on pasture eating their natural diet, the result is meat that's more flavorful, more nutritious, and better for you.
Our animals spend their lives on open pasture, with plenty of room to roam, graze, and exhibit natural behaviors.
We never use antibiotics or growth hormones. Healthy animals raised in clean conditions don't need them.
Unlike industrial operations, we never send animals to crowded feedlots. They live their entire lives on our farm.
Our animals eat what they were designed to eat: grass, forage, and natural feed—never processed junk.
We rotate animals to fresh pasture regularly, which improves soil health and provides the best nutrition.
Every animal is treated with respect and care from birth to harvest. Low-stress handling is our standard.
For Beef: Our cattle graze on lush pasture year-round (weather permitting) and are finished on grass, not grain. This produces beef with superior flavor, healthy omega-3 fatty acids, and the perfect marbling.
For Pork: Our heritage breed pigs root, roam, and forage as pigs were meant to do. They're raised outdoors with access to shelter, resulting in flavorful pork with excellent texture.
For Chicken: Our chickens live in mobile coops that are moved daily to fresh pasture. They eat bugs, grass, and natural feed—producing eggs and meat with deep golden yolks and rich flavor.
We don't just sustain our land—we improve it. Through rotational grazing and other regenerative practices, we're building soil health, increasing biodiversity, and sequestering carbon. Every year, our pastures get richer, our grass gets greener, and our animals get healthier.
This is farming the way it should be: good for animals, good for the land, and good for you.
